Botulinum is a naturally occurring protein that is found in our bodies. It stops nerves transmitting signals to muscles in order to reduce the movement of the muscles responsible for expression, especially crow’s feet, frown and worry lines on the brow.
A very fine needle is used to minimise discomfort. Generally the treatment is not painful. If you are nervous about needles please ask for aesthetic cream or ice.
The effects tend to last 3-4 months.
Botulinum is not suitable for lines present without expression.
WHAT AREAS OF THE FACE SUIT BOTOX?
While Botox treatment can be used almost everywhere on the face, some facial areas respond better than others:
Forehead Wrinkles
Forehead muscles are constantly used. As a result, they are one of the first facial features to show signs of aging. Since they are difficult to hide, they are one of the most common areas for Botox. Botox treatment for forehead wrinkles is quick, simple, and requires no anesthesia. Its effects can last up to 6 months.
Crows Feet
These are small, fine lines that extend from the corners of your eyes when you laugh or smile. Botox injections work exceptionally well in easing their appearance, giving you a youthful look.
Marionette lines and corners of the mouth
These lines extend from the corners of the mouth towards the jaw. Some people also face the problem of a drooping mouth. Botox treatment helps combat both these issues.
Forehead Frown Lines
The lines that appear on your forehead between the eyebrows when you frown are called forehead frown lines. Often, these lines can make you look tired, upset, or angry. Botox reduces the depth of these lines.
Smokers Lines
They are also known as perinral lines. One may not necessarily be a smoker to have the appearance of smoker’s lines on their faces. A small amount of Botox can treat these lines that appear when you purse your lips.
